Solar Powered Cellphone Charger

Our 11 year old boy was able to assemble a solar powered cellphone charger, with adult supervision of course.

Materials used:
10 pcs 52x19mm solar cells
tab wire
wire terminal
rectifier diode
4.7 volts rechargeable lead acid flashight battery (disassembled from old flash light)
acrylic sheet for front and back cover

11year old Zechariah Tabbing Solar Cells

We added aluminium tape to cover the sides and back of the acrylic casing so it will  be waterproof.

That the back looks like.  View of wire terminal and the rechargeable battery, and the aluminum tapes :D.  Finished project is 1.4 watts, 5 volts solar panel.

This solar project can be used for fast charging cellphones, IPODs, MP3, MP4, PSP, etc.. and can be brought anywhere too, no more problem of low bat :D.  Very good to be brought for camping, picnics and any outdoor activities.
